Nagarjuna Greeku Veerudu Movie Latest New Review

Release date : 03 May 2013
Director : Kondapalli Dasaradh Kumar
Producer : D Siva Prasad Reddy
Music Director : S. Thaman
Starring : Nagarjuna, Nayantara, Meera Chopra

‘King’ Akkineni Nagarjuna’s ‘Greeku Veerudu’ has released across the world today. The movie has been directed by Dasaradh and Siva Prasad Reddy has produced it on Kamakshi Movies banner. The film has Nagarjuna and Nayanathara in the lead roles. Music has been composed by Thaman. Let us see how the film is.

Story :

Chandu (Nagarjuna) is a selfish NRI event manager. He believes in enjoying life, without any commitments and attachments. After the failure of an event, he is dragged to court by PR (Ashish Vidyardhi) and Chandu ends up with a massive fine on his hands.

At this point, he comes to know about his family fortune in India, which is about a 1000 Crores. Chandu does not have any ties with his relatives, so he decides to go to India and win them over for his selfish reasons. His grandfather Ramakrishna Prasad (Vishwanadh) welcomes him with open arms and grows fond of him.

On the journey to India, he runs into Sandhya (Nayanatara), who works for the ‘Make a Wish’ foundation. He develops feelings for her and Sandhya also reciprocates. To appease his family, Chandu requests Sandhya to act as his wife, to which she obliges.

But things unravel once Chandu’s motives become known. What will he do in these circumstances? Will he change as a person? Will he win back the love of his grandfather? That forms the story of ‘Greeku Veerudu’.

Plus Points :

Nagarjuna looks stylish and suave in the role of Chandu. His costumes are superb, as always. He has tried his hand at dances in this film and he has done a good job in the ‘I hate love stories’ song. Nayanathara looks quite beautiful in the film and her costumes are very nice. The screen chemistry between these two actors is quite nice to watch.

Veteran actor K. Vishwanadh has done a neat job in the film. The scenes between Nagarjuna and Vishwanadh have come out well. Character actress Sudha has a few vital scenes and she has done justice to her role.Kota Srinivasa Rao, Bannerjee and Ashish Vidhyardhi are ok. Brahmanandmam entertains in a few sequences.

A clean family drama is at the heart of this film and that will be appreciated by middle aged people and women. The first half is largely decent and just before the interval, the emotional quotient gets a sudden boost.

Towards the end, M.S.Narayana,Vennela Kishore and Brahmanandam succeed in creating a brief confusion comedy of sorts.

Minus Points :

The pace of the film is quite slow. Screenplay is not upto the mark and the plot keeps wandering all over the place in the second half. There are some loopholes in the plot.

Graphics work is quite bad. The makers have gone in for matte shots to simulate USA and other foreign locales and these scenes are an eyesore. In fact, these bad visuals end up making people irritated and this spoils the overall viewing experience.

The second half has some bad comedy. The episode in the amusement park, where Nagarjuna tries to fulfil a young kid’s last dream, is quite badly executed. A mindless episode involving Brahmanandam and some dogs is best forgotten.

The marriage drama sequence between Nagarjuna and Nayanathara is quite silly.Venu Madhav, Srinivas Reddy and Dharamavarapu Subrahmanyam are wasted.

Technical Aspects :

Cinematography is quite bad and it is a major letdown. Editing could have been better in the second half. Thaman’s background music is ok. Dialogues are ok in a few places but they could have been better.

Dasaradh has succeeded in getting the emotional moments right. But he should have paid more attention to the comedy scenes and the romantic track.

Verdict :

Greeku Veerudu is a clean family drama. The film has some good emotional moments and fine performances from Nagarjuna, Nayanathara and Vishwanadh. Poor CG shots, slow pace and some cliched moments spoil the experience to a certain extent. Overall, this is a movie that will appeal more to older sections of the audience.

Nithiin Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyinde Movie Latest Hot Review

Release date : 19 April 2013
Director : Vijay Kumar Konda
Producer : Nikitha Reddy, Vikram Gowd
Music Director : Anoop Rubens
Starring : Nithiin, Nithya Menen, Isha Talwar, Ali, Jwala Gutta

Young Hero Nithiin’s ‘Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyindhe’ has released today across the world. Nithiin, Nithya Menen and Isha Talwar are the lead actors in this movie, which has been directed by Vijay Kumar Konda. Sresht Movies banner has produced the film and Anoop Rubens has composed the music. The film is crucial for Nithiin, as it coming after the success of ‘Ishq’. Let us see how GJG is

Story :

The story of ‘Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyindhe’ is simple, but sweet. Karthik (Nithiin) is a fiercely independent youngster, who likes to live life on his terms. He believes in a hands on approach to things. During the wedding party of his friend Pandu (Ali), Karthik comes across Shruthi (Isha Talwar) and instantly falls in love with her. He obtains her phone number through Pandu and starts calling her on a regular basis.

But as fate would have it, Karthik gets the wrong number and he actually keeps calling Shravani (Nithya Menen), instead of Shruthi. Shravani is a very rich young girl, who fantasizes about falling in love with an anonymous lover. She wants someone who loves her for what she is, without caring about her beauty or her wealth. Karthik meets all her requirements and it is a dream come true for her.

A breezy romance starts over the phone. Karthik and Shravani fall in love with each other for completely different reasons. But the happiness is short lived and the story takes a twist when both parties come to know about the mix up.

What happens next? Who will Karthik end up with? Watch the film to know the rest.

Plus Points :

Nithiin is a perfect fit for the role of Karthik. Beginning with ‘Ishq’, he has transformed himself completely in terms of acting and body language. His costumes are cool and he now has a certain ease on screen. His dances in Pawan Kalyan’s remix song are outstanding. With the help of technology, the makers have shown Pawan Kalyan and Nithiin dancing together and this sequence has come out really well. Nithiin is getting good at comedy and his timing is spot on in this movie.

Nithya Menen is once again the undisputed star of the film. In a character that has multiple shades, she shines through brilliantly. Nithya has very expressive eyes and she uses them to devastating effect while conveying emotions. Her performance is a treat to watch in this movie.

The chemistry between Nithiin and Nithya is outstanding and is a major highlight for the movie. Their scenes have been written and shot very well. The romantic track between Nithiin and Nithya has a lot of depth. There is tenderness, humour and emotional bonding between the characters. Climax sequence is good and the scenes will tug at your heartstrings.

Isha Talwar is decent. Ali entertains well as Nithiin’s friend. Thagubothu Ramesh brings a few laughs in a brief role. Madhu has performed well as Nithiin’s friend and his romantic track with Isha Talwar is quite humorous.

Clever screenplay and intelligent humour are the film’s biggest assets. Pace of narration is fast and the entertainment quotient is maintained right through the film. Songs have been shot well, especially the title song, Pawan Kalyan’s remix song and ‘Thu hi Re’.

There are a number of references to Pawan Kalyan and the famous ‘nadum’ scene from ‘Khushi’ has been used cleverly in the film.

Minus Points :

When compared to the first half, the second half loses pace slightly for a while. Jwala Gutta is not very effective as a dancer.

Some cinematic liberties have been taken with the story. When you speak to someone for hours together on the phone, and consider that person as your soul mate, will you not recognise that voice when he/she comes in front of you?

The gay comedy scenes are fun for a while, but may not be enjoyed by everyone – especially family crowds. Raghu Babu is wasted in a comedy track that does not really gel with the rest of the film.

Technical Aspects :

Andrew’s cinematography is very good and it lends a rich feel to the visuals. Editing is very good. Dialogues are superb and they are a big asset for the film. Anoop Rubens has composed the film’s music and he has done a good job.

Vijay Kumar Konda shows great promise as a director. It is quite tough to engage the attention of viewers with such a simple storyline, but he succeeds.

Verdict :

‘Gunde Jaari Gallanthayyindhe’ is a nicely written and well executed romantic comedy. Superb chemistry between Nithiin and Nithya, a high comedy quotient and intelligent screenplay make this film a very enjoyable watch. Nithiin has a potential Box Office winner on his hands.

Prabash Latest Mirchi Movie Review and Rattings

Jai (Prabhas) is an architect from Italy and he believes one doesn’t lose anything by loving people. At the most people will fall in love with you in return. He also says we pass through this life but once so we shouldn’t make it complicating for us or the others. Manasa (Richa) likes his philosophy and falls in love with him as she always finds his company soothing . She on one occasion tells him to go away from her as she is getting used to this happiness. She is soon returning to her village where killing, hurting and blood shed is the order of the day; But to her surprise she finds him already stationed in her house winning everyone’s affection.

The dialogue about loving others becomes a backbone for the film, it is around this line the entire story is built. Jai acts as a bridge between two warring faction families and the initial title Varadhi was apt but later on it was changed to Mirchi. Just when the talk of getting Jai married to Manasa arises, Jai reveals the story to Manasa as to why he is not interested in getting married. Who is he and why did he enter her family in the first place? We see a lot of traces from Bindas in the film, if we bring a star hero in Bindas it becomes Mirchi. Though Koratala Siva’s treatment is not new it gives a fresh feel.

There are many areas where you get to see Siva’s talent and potential to direct a mass film. Especially the introduction of Jai is a good example. The fight scene in which he tells the rowdies how it would be like if he hits them brings an applause in the theatre. Sometimes you ought to believe when you see the cut out he says referring to his imposing personality and height. Siva earns brownie points through dialogues which sounds like a fight, he doesn’t use an action scene every where. There is an advantage if a writer becomes a director, Siva could have polished some of the scenes but in majority of the portions he elevated the scenes through dialogues.

Prabhas looks cool in his fights, especially when he wields a sword. He appears very settled in his scenes, he has already proved his worth in Chatrapathi to the masses, Darling endeared him to the family audiences. He has shown through Mirchi that if a mass hero does a film that everyone likes, the range is different. Prabhas is growing as an actor with each film. Anushka gets more marks as a naughty woman and Richa who always disappoints is just about okay. Devi Sri Prasad’s music brings out the energy and the mood especially Mirchi Lanti Kurrode rocked. Brahmanandam tickled the audiences in his own inimitable style. He plays the role of Veera Pratap who gets bugged when addressed as Pratapam. There are loopholes in the story as well. The first half doesn’t move first and then there is a flash back in the second half. By the time it is done, the film is wrapped up. It is definitely a problem with the screenplay.

Anushka is an uneducated girl but she works in Prabhas’ office. The same house is shown in the film and many films, maybe it is a permanent set for faction movies; it doesn’t change with time at all. If you can skip these small flaws, Mirchi makes for an interesting watch. It has the fights of the faction and affections of the family all well knit to make it a spicy drama. A sure shot hit this!
