Thuppakki is a Tamil action thriller film written and directed by A. R. Murugadoss. The film will star Vijay and Kajal Aggarwal, in the lead roles.
Thuppakki is an action thriller movie revolving around a youngster from a Mumbai-based Tamil family and his decisions he takes after his life undergoes a sudden turn.
Kajal Aggarwal has a meaty role in Thuppakki. Her role is not limited to be an arm-candy of Vijay in Thuppakki. Well, she will be seen in the role of a boxer in the film. She plays the role named Nisha, an iron-willed girl. However, the actress will also be seen in glamorous avatars.

Tamil superstar Vijay is acting in the film Tupaki directed by AR Murugadaoss has completed its censor and was awarded clean U certificate with few corrections and cuts. And the movie is slated to release on 13th of November as Diwali special.

Synopsys:
The story revolves around the main character Jagadish, played by Vijay, a youngster from a Tamil family in Mumbai. He leads a happy life until he goes through an unexpected turn. The remaining story talks about how he copes with the problem and what decision he takes to solve the crisis.
Vijay plays the role of an encounter specialist while Kajal Agarwal plays the character, Nisha, an iron-willed girl. She plays a very important role in Thuppakki. She will be seen in the role of a boxer in the film. However, the actress will also be seen in glamorous avatars. Akshara Gowda is to play the second female lead. Bollywood actor Vidyut Jamwal is donning the negative role.
Performances:
Murugadoss Squeezed Vijay`s acting. Vijay lived up in th erole of encounter specialist. This is going to be his best out put after Nunbun.
Kajal Aggarwal has done fair enough on her part. she is gorgeous in songs.
Jayaram Vidyut Jamwal,Sathyan, all others have done justice to their roles.
Technicalities:
Camera is handled by award-winning cinematographer Santhosh Sivan is up to his reputation. A. Sreekar Prasad`s Editing is ok it would have added life if the length of the movie is crisped a little.The soundtrack and background score are done by the talented music composer Harris Jayaraj is already rocking the fans and listeners. In Thuppakki, Vijay croons a song after a very long time.
Positives:
Vijay has a huge loyal fan base and they will ensure an earth-shattering opening. Thuppakki title issue had kept the movie under the radar for a few months until out-of-court settlement was reached with Kallathuppakki team. Vijay’s fans never let that controversy impact the movie. They have taken care of keeping the hype up even during the down periods.
A.R.Murugadoss’ films have been big hits in the past even though his last outing 7aum Arivu received mixed reviews. Director AR Murugadoss had been working on Thuppakki’s script after the completion of Ghajini (Tamil). He was ready to begin shooting with Akshay Kumar even prior to 7aum Arivu. We can look forward to a complete entertainer from him.
AR Murugadoss’ movies have always boasted of slick technical values; Thuppakki will not be an exception. Four times National Award winning Cinematographer and Director Santhosh Sivan will be a major asset to the film.
Negatives:
Running length of the film is expected to be around 2 hour 50 minutes. Our audience recently have been highly critical about any lags or slackening pace. Audience have been insisting on engaging script throughout and appears to be preferring shorter duration, of late.
A number of Diwali movies will be releasing in Tamil and Hindi. We can expect two out of three Tamil films (Podaa Podi, Ammavin Kaipesi, Neerparavai) to join Thuppakki for Diwali. But, there is no official confirmation yet from Podaa Podi. In Tamil Nadu, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan and Devgn’s Son of Sardar should not have much impact.
However in overseas and centers outside of Tamil Nadu, the intense Diwali competition could impact the neutral audience who typically cherry pick the most acclaimed Diwali movie to watch.
What`s in it for Box Office:
As of now, only Thuppakki is confirmed to be Diwali release with no word from Podaa Podi. The advance bookings have started in full swing. Thuppakki releasing in record number of screens will have a great extended opening(6-day opening) at the box office, if the reviews and word of mouth are positive.
Final Verdict:
With brilliant crew members and Vijay on board, it is no doubt Thuppakki will be a technically sound action entertainer. If the opening word of mouth is good, Thuppakki might be the perfect film to uplift the festive mood this Diwali and break a few box-office opening records.
